Google PageRank and Doing Business Online

stormbreaker

,

Google is now updating PageRank of websites across the Internet. This blog’s PR went down a single notch and most of my websites suffered the same fate. Will it affect me so much? I think not. This is one of the lessons I learned from doing business in the Internet – don’t put all the eggs in a single basket. Even if some of my websites’ income or marketability depends on PageRank, like those of my directories, I see to it that my other revenue sources will not be PR-dependent. To those who do paid blogging, even if advertisers value PageRank at some point, what is more important is that you write quality and original content. I’ve known bloggers who rake in a lot of money I paid blogging without thinking too much of their sites’ PageRank. To maintain some descent amount of income doing business in the Internet, one option is to diversify your investments. Don’t think too much of PageRank, as it doesn’t think too much of you.

Being an Entrepreneur

stormbreaker

I always want to be an entrepreneur. Even during my college days, I always think of ways on how I can earn money through buying and selling stuffs. The main problem I often encounter was the lack of capital. Even if I want to buy in bulk, like toys in Divisoria, so that I can get them at a cheaper price, I end up buying them at a higher price tag because I don’t have enough money for a wholesale rate.

But lack of capital didn’t stop me from pursuing what I wanted. In fact, I ventured to selling various products such as perfumes, toys, and even meat preserves. I wasn’t able to enroll in college entrepreneurship subjects since my undergraduate course is not really a business-related type of discipline. Nonetheless, the two opposite worlds which I’m into gave me a wider perspective in going into business.

Right now, I continue to study entrepreneurship. Maybe I’m still a part of those in minority entrepreneurship. It may not be inside a formal classroom setting but given the resources the Web has to offer, I believe that someday, I can be like the people I look up to.

Quick Loans for Business Start-ups

stormbreaker

I always plan to establish a business. It’s not a grand, big type of business – an Internet Café. This type of business requires a large capital, but still, the capital requirements of Internet Café is lower than any other type of business. Small Business Loans is one of the ways of financing that business and getting it ready for take-off. For this type of loans, that are very popular among start-up businesses, EZUnsecured.com is manna from heaven

Software from AIMPromote

stormbreaker

Managing a business can be quite a handful-ask anyone who’s had their noses deep in business proposals, sales pitch, invoice, and all that paperwork. Probably one of the most tasking activities there is in a business venture would be finding buyers for a particular product. What is termed as sales leads in the business lingo is the identity of a probable/potential client for your product. Handling leads can be a complicated procedure, since a lot of research is done on this level- Leads of certain companies interested in your product are further inspected apart from the initial profile given by the company before they even qualify for the next level as a sales prospect. As this is the pool of possible clients of a particular company, it is thereby imperative that a good system for a company’s sales leads be in place.

One such system is the one offered by AIMpromote: a web-based software which handles sales leads for a particular company. This software gets your sales leads organized into a more efficient system such that you don’t only get to monitor your leads, but the opportunity to sell leads is also possible. This can be most helpful for home-based business bloggers, as one of the system’s features is the lead attention meter, which acts as a monitoring mechanism for following which lead is new to your list, and which ones have been neglected (for this, the system prompts you). This is a proven way by which sales lost (due to missed opportunities form loss of leads) may be avoided or reduced considerably. Apart from that, the system provides lead management features, reporting, sales force automation, user management authentication, support and consultation, and also includes website integration and internet marketing. What’s more, a 14-day trial period is offered for free so that you test the merchandise before deciding on whether of it or not.

Management of sales leads doesn’t have to be a complicated matter in your business-just have the right system in place, and monitoring your leads can be an easier task to accomplish.

IT Compliance of Companies

stormbreaker

Modern-day companies should not only be concerned with having a website and bringing their businesses online. What is more important is the overall structure of their network system including their operations, connectivity, backups, redundancies, and many more. Their IT Compliance with the generally-accepted industry standards counts, and this make a company different from the rest.

Usability vs. Sustainability

stormbreaker

I have used a lot of plugins in this blog. In fact, majority of the websites I operate have their own sets of plugins. Whether it is a blog, a forum, or a directory, I always see to it that I use these add-ons to make it better than the default installation. Since I am an avid user of open source technologies, I have easier access to this plugins. Most of them are widely available in the Internet and can be downloaded freely. The question now is, Am I after the usability of an add-on or its sustainability?

In my situation, it is both. I mentioned that my sites have different sets of add-ons. This is due to that fact that every site has its own needs. I do not use plugins that I don’t need, and I don’t use them just because many are using them. However, I also consider sustainability as one of my criteria when deciding to use an add-on or not. Sustainability in a sense of the programmer’s/author’s capacity to support the plugin for a long period of time, especially that the core software/script (e.g. Wordpress) had upgraded into a newer version. I see to it that these plugins are always compatible with the new version. I am not a programmer and I can’t modify codes that I use to make it compatible with the recent releases of the scripts that I use. Hence, sustainability is of the essence.

Also, this is also true with themes, styles, or templates that are available for open source scripts. Changes in the codes and tags require codes of these templates to be updated too. That is why one of my observations why many Wordpress blogs change it look every time a major upgrade was released is because of the fact that their current template doesn’t support the upgrade.

For others, which do you prefer, usability or sustainability?

On Using the Web

stormbreaker

There has been an unusual way Internet citizens are using the World Wide Web. In fact, not all of these users are surfing the Internet for a definite purpose. Most of them are just surfing in order to look for something to do or something to read about like how to make money online. However, I say this not to sound negative since this is only an observation.

There is a need to organize our surfing habits, that is, set a goal on why we are using the Web. Do we go shopping in order to buy something like corporate gifts or we just want to read business articles? If we are just going to chat and make friends, then the purpose of using the Web is very clear. But if we just visit from one website to another, then it is just waste of time. Maybe we need to use a bookmarking site to organize favourite websites that have been browsed. Whatever our purpose it, it is important that we serve it everytime we go online.

Paypal to Philippine Bank Withdrawal Service

stormbreaker

I’m very happy that Paypal now allows it members from the Philippines to withdraw money from their Paypal account and transfer it directly to their local bank accounts. I’m currently using their debit/credit card option as the withdrawal procedure and though I did not have any problem with the said arrangement, I still prefer that my money goes directly to my other bank accounts (where I don’t have a credit card).

When you login to your Paypal account and access the Withdrawal page, you’ll see that one of the options in “Withdraw funds to your bank account” is for Banks in the Philippines.

You just need to ask for your bank’s SWIFT CODE since Paypal will ask for it.

This will save me a lot of money since withdrawals are free if the withdrawn amount is more than P7,000 whereas my current withdrawal option charges me $5 for every transaction

One doesn’t have to worry, one can always apply for a Loan to fund the expenses. But be careful, be sure that the loan is coming from a reputable credit company. Getting Unsecured loans and put you more in trouble.

Category to Tags Import

stormbreaker

,

I am happy with the new feature of Wordpress 2.3 that enables bloggers to add tags to their posts without using Jerome’s Keywords Plugin or any tagging plugin for Wordpress. I even used the import feature wherein you can use import the tags of your posts from the categories wherein they are filed under. However, I wasn’t aware that when you do the import, all the categories will be gone and what remains are the tags for each post. The result? More than 250 of my posts (around 90%) of the contents of this blog is filed as “Uncategorized” and I have to edit the post one by one to their original categories. What a daunting task!

Income Opportunities from PayPerPost

stormbreaker

I have been a member of payperpost for several months now. At first, I thought this program is the same as those I have joined before, where I only got a username and password after joining, with no income or whatsoever in the duration of my membership. Actually, I only have two opportunities available when I submitted this blog and eventually approved by their editors. I did not bother to take those opportunities that maybe I am just waiting for something more profitable to happen.

It late when I realize that I haven’t installed the PPP code in my blog, and when I did, viola! The opportunities just got coming in. I thought I could write the whole day I want but PPP code allows only two paid posts per day. Nonetheless, I got something to write every single day, and something to earn from it. Not only that I enjoyed writing about the things I want and earning from it, but I also love the experience of learning something new every time I write for a certain topic or product.

Right now, PayPerPost gives me more than the earnings of all the contextual ads in all of my sites combined; and I am happy how things are going. In a country like mine where a single PayPerPost is more than enough to sustain my everyday needs, this paid to blogging program is definitely a great way to make a living.

I have signed up for a new paid to blog service a few days ago. Smorty is giving bloggers a great way to earn money online. Their get paid to blog service is one of the best in the market. You will keep updated of the blog post offers as they will constantly email you as soon as a blogging opportunity becomes available. If you blog for money, this service is just right for you. On the other hand, if you are an advertiser who want to advertise on blogs for your products and services, they also have a program which will surely provide you the right promotion and exposure in the market.

Being paid to blog about the things I am interested is one of the things I am very thankful for. For the amount of money I receive just to spend a few minutes talking about things, products, and services, blogging has never been the same.

Electronic Thoughts

stormbreaker

Blogging has been a new craze in most countries. People all over the world who have access to the internet consider this already as a hobby and an outlet of their emotions in replace or sometimes in addition to the traditional diary. But the content of the blog is not just the way to depict people’s personality, the design of the blog site itself also adds up to the sensation being conveyed by the blogger.

Many softwares are available to help the bloggers spice up their virtual diaries. Wordpress, coupled with lots of Wordpress themes, are one of the few of those priceless web personal publishing platforms. Through the aid of programs like these, setting the mood of the blog site in line with the write-up becomes a lot easier. These softwares could be easily found at the World Wide Web. One could easily check through the search engines or if he wants a categorized and organized method he could use a web directory.

On the other hand, a web directory is also another way in which web marketers make their presence in the cyberspace. It has been increasingly becoming popular as it gives more income opportunities to web marketers through link selling. Recurring income from monthly payment rentals entice website owners to try this venture.

Of course, blog sites are not the only web pages that need aid for designs. Link directories too need matching of the lay-outs and colors by using templates from resources for customs like what phpLinkDirectory offers. The script, also known as phpLD, has free and paid versions. It has a lot of features but most importantly, users can customized the look and feel of their web directory as it uses a template-based scheme which one can easily edit. To most users, there are ready-made phpLD templates available for download.

Blog and web directories are a good pair. Indeed, words strike stronger and better when the right mood accompanies them, and personal expressions plus opportunities for streaming income make it more sweeter.

Site Translation Plugin: A must-have

stormbreaker

Translating your blog into other languages is a great idea. Aside from it widens your readership base it also adds up the number of pages that you add every time you make a new blog post or set up a new page. Those were the basic reasons why I have installed them in this blog.

For Wordpress blogs, the very technical task of translating webpages to other languages is as easy as 1-2-3 with the help of the Global Translator plugin. It translates your website through the Google translation engine or the Babel translation engine. Your pages may have up to 12 languages which means a single post can have additional 12 new pages having the same content, which by the way will not be penalized by Search Engines (on the assumption that no other duplicate pages resides on other websites), because the content is written in a different language.

For a blogger who wants to have more exposure to a variety of audience who access web information through their mother tongues, this plugin is really a must-have.

Viral Videos Blog… Launched!

stormbreaker

One of my old domains, dalipit.com, has been repackaged from an old video blog to… what??? a video blog again! Yes, but it will be a little different this time. I have incorporated additional plugins that will make this video blog more interesting. And… I will not be the only author for this blog… it could be anyone else!

Dalipit Dot Com is now an Adsense Revenue Sharing Blog. Authors can submit their own Adsense IDs and share in the revenue that Dalipit Dot Com generates.

Features:

Our revenue share program is split 60-40. You will make 60% of the Google Adsense revenue generated by the videos you submit. The more traffic your video drives, the more ads will be displayed, and the more money you will make.
Thumbnail support. Just save the thumbnail first into your hard drive then upload it together with your “embed codes”.
Accepts videos from the various video sharing sites, though we highly recommend Youtube, Google Video, Metacafe, Ifilm, Myspace, and Revver.
Rules:

Each post must contain only the “embed code” of your video. Uploading a thumbnail is optional but highly recommended.
Select the best category for your video. Videos should only belong to a single category.
Porn and other content that will be in violation of the Google Terms of Service is prohibited. Though we recommend videos from Ifilm and Metacafe, they have videos that are still not for general audience and we cannot accept that. This also applies to other video sharing sites that we have not mentioned.
Videos uploaded that do not pass the standards of our editors may be deleted without any notice to the original poster.
Tips:

Authors are advised to turn off the visual rich editor for easier posting of “embed codes”.
When you click PUBLISH, it may take sometime before it loads another page. It will be best to check the home page (to see if your post has already been published) before clicking PUBLISH again to avoid multiple post.
Just in case there are others who are interested, just signify your intention by commenting on this entry.

Note: The rules and guidelines may be changed from time to time. It is advised to regularly visit this post to keep you updated.

A new home!

stormbreaker

After a few months of thinking whether I should create a new blog site or stay with my Dalipit Dot Com page, I finally decided to have a new blog… which by the way carries my surname. It’s just disappointing to know that the .com and .net domains of my surname were already registered to another user.

So what happened to my old blog? I have converted it into a video blog, containing top rating videos from Youtube and Google. It’s an Adsense blog which means the pages are optimized for Google ads. Also, there are several users who are posting entries in that blog, and they even have a share in the Google ads impressions. The concept is much more similar into a community website. However, authorship in that blog is not opened to eveyone. This is to avoid having some members posting pornographic materials (those coming from Porn-youtube counterparts) and irrelevant content.

This blog, the one where you are now, will be about anything… everything of my interest… something of importance to my philosophically-driven, non-standard, out-of-this world perspectives.

Blinds for the New Room

stormbreaker

I’ll be moving to another house soon. When I check this new house, I found out that my room is located in an area where the sun directly rises in the morning. That’s why I’m planning to get blinds for my window to cover me from the sun rays as well to add decoration to my room. Blinds from SelectBlinds may be the best option since I also started feel comfortable of purchasing online.

Performancing Ads: Performing Bad???

I was really pissed with Performancing Ads these past days. Why? Actually, I was really excited when I joined this program several weeks ago. Their intuitive approach to advertising and money making opportunities for web publishers like me is something worth trying out.

I submitted this site to the program when I complete my registration. It took a while, a few days actually, before I got an advertiser to my site. Apparently, I submitted one of my article directories to their inventory and I was happy that the site was able to get some advertisers too. The ad placements were even reflected in my account. I eventually submitted two of my gambling-related sites and to my surprise, both got one advertiser each. I was very glad when this happened since the income I was expecting, though it is very little, is good enough to pay for my web hosting expenses.

However, I was wondering when I checked my account after a few days. It is reflected in my Account Panel the bookings that I made in the past week. But the corresponding income for the ad sales were not there. So I immediately sent them an email through my Account Panel hoping that they will at the very least explain the situation but it’s more than a week and I haven’t received any feedback from them.

Now, I am totally pissed…

Getting Web Hosting and Being as Web Affiliates

Many affiliates earn from being web hosting affiliates. As a matter of fact, one of the ways where I earn money from the Internet is through commissions from the sales I have referred to these web hosting companies. There’s a lot of potential in this type of money making venture, some of these companies doesn’t require you to have a website at all. All you have to do is to make market your affiliate link to your contacts and when they sign-up, it is instant money for you.

However, it will be just ironic to consider when you sell something that you do not actually use. So when selling web hosting service, it is really important you also have your own website. Whether it is a blog, a personal homepage, or even a complex website, the important thing is that you show to your potential clients that you yourself know how to use the product that market to them. But the next question is, where should you host your website?

If you want a good web hosting resource where you can weigh your options before making any purchase, the WebHostingGeeks website is definitely worth a visit. Its vast numbers of reviews of many web hosting companies gives you an overview of what these companies can offer. In fact, these reviews are made by web hosting clients themselves so what you get is an honest-to-goodness review of web hosting services. What makes it more than just a simple resource is that it has reviews of different types of web hosting services. Whether you are looking for a reseller, dedicated, PHP, blog, or forum hosting service, this site certainly gives you a preview of what you’ll get.

List of Scripts for Article Directories

stormbreaker

I have temporarily stopped my posts on providing listings of various resources and information in the Web. But now, I’ll be back in providing you more list and more resources for your use.

I built article directories and I’m fond of doing so. In fact, I’m planning to put up more since the content available for these types of website is simply amazing. You will not run out of content actually. Here are the scripts available in the Internet if you decide on putting up an article website.

Article Dashboard - this one is free. The drawback is that the source code is encrypted. There are some people who questioned its security and flaws. In my case, I used it a lot of times and until now, my sites keep on running smoothly. What makes it difficult to use is how to include codes on its files, especially if you’re planning to add PHP-powered advertisement codes. Don’t worry, I posted a tutorial here on how to get over this dilemma.
Article MS - this one is also free and is not encrypted. I haven’t use this one but I have heard positive feedback on this software. I looked into the template files and it looks easy to customize.
Your Articles Directory - this is a paid script. I bought one at Digital Point bundled with around 277,000 articles. What I noticed in my case is that it runs slower that the scripts I mentioned above.
Article Friendly - this is a paid script and comes in two flavors - Standard and Pro version. I’m using the Standard version which has less features than the Pro version. Standard version costs $24.99 while the Pro version costs $49.99. The template is also easy to customize but you have to edit each template file that will be called by the script.
Article Live - this is also a paid script but the most expensive of all. The price may be compensated by its jam-packed features out of the box. The single domain license costs $289.
It’s now for you to decide what to get!

If you are planning to start an article directory and want to have an enormous content in an instant, you may want to purchase the databases that I’m selling in my online store.

Article Dashboard Security Flaw

stormbreaker

There is an ongoing discussion on the SEO Philippines forum regarding the security flaw in Article Dashboard script. To those who don’t know what this script does, it is a free article directory script where users can submit their articles and get a free promotion and instant backlink to their sites. This script, however, is encoded with IonCube which makes it difficult to customize and modify. I don’t participate with the ongoing discussion even though I’m have sites powered by that script. It was until a fellow webmaster sent a message to me with a screenshot of my website showing the admin panel which he was able to pass through. I was really surprised, how can someone other than me without using a password get through the admin control panel? That friend however, just did that to warn us Article Dashboard users that our sites are not that secured like it meant to be. As of the moment, other security measures have been applied as I’m waiting for the next updated release of the Article Dashboard (AD) script. Are you an AD owner too? Be warned!
