Google to Stop Adsense Referrals

stormbreaker

I received an e-mail from Google telling me that they will stop the Adsense Referral program. I am very saddened by this move since I had made money from this program in the past, and in the last two months, I was able to get a number of referrals and I am hoping that I will earn a bonus from those referrals if ever they earn a hundred dollars within the required period.

I hope the people in Google will change their minds.

Here’s a part of the email that I got:

By the end of January, you should remove all referral units directing users to AdSense from your pages. Referral units that you do not remove will continue to be displayed on your pages as normal, but conversions will no longer be recorded. We suggest you replace the AdSense referrals with referrals to another product or service or an additional ad unit.

Pligg Adsense Tutorial - Yget Template

stormbreaker

This is the third installment of the tutorial for adding ad codes in Pligg. For this tutorial, I’ll be using the Yget template. Unlike the first two tutorials that I have written, this tutorial will not include the sidebar as an ad location, and will only use Adsense ad codes. This sample editing will show two leaderboard banners at your main page. For story pages, a leaderboard ad, a 468×60 banner, and a large triangle ad will be shown. For search results and upcoming stories, only a leaderboard ad will be used. You are free to modify these codes according to your preferences. This only serves as a guide on how to modify the template files in order to add ad codes. You may even use other affiliate programs such as Adbrite or Text-Link-Ads.

Additional notes:Courses like SY0-101 have been serving the purpose of revision after basic courses like 350-001 and 650-178. However, for professionals who have done 642-372 or even 642-453, the need to take refresher courses seldom rises. Same holds true for those who have certifications like 70-536 or the advanced 70-290 to their credit.

Getting my First Adsense Check

stormbreaker

It took awhile before I have finally made another blog entry in this website. Being busy with my job, as well my thesis and a couple of websites, it’s hard for me to find time blogging. But not for this one, when I was so delighted when my first paycheck from Google Adsense arrived. It’s not a big amount, but nonetheless, it took some doubts and pessimisms from my thoughts that a person can actually earn from that program.
There’s only one disadvantage… Getting a check from Google is so addictive, that you’ll craving for more. Now I think Adsense is sweet, as sweet as getting my first paycheck from my regular job.

Life of an Adsense Loser

stormbreaker

Adsense Life is also short… so make the most out of it!
John signs up for the Adsense Program. After having read some real-life testimonies of Adsense earners, he couldn’t wait enough to be approved as an Adsense Publisher.
John’ Google Adsense application has been approved. He immediately logs on his account, get some codes and paste it on his website. After which, he composed a blog entry about making money with Adsense, his beginnings as a Web Entrepreneur. John got a feeling of heaven when he saw the first Google ad being delivered on his webpage. John knew it will be the start of a new career for him.
With all the enthusiasm and high spirit feeling of John, he composes a blog entry everyday, hoping that more ads will be shown and eventually, income will be realized.
After a few days, he was surprised to see that he had earned his first dollar from the program. He planned to blog more and put more ad blocks in this pages.
John made more dollars after a few days and had a clear vision that in the coming weeks, he will surpassed the 100-dollar mark in the Adsense program. However, as his attention focused more on how to earn, on how to place his ads well, and on how to spam other sites to get more visitors, he failed to sustain writing more quality entries in his blog. He began copying others’ content, substituting a few words with his own, and putting additional 2-3 sentences to make it appear as his own.
Apparently, his earnings dropped. It was lucky for him if he had a few cents per day. And this situation brought Joey so much frustration. He promised to himself that he will bounce back, and regain that dollars-machine that he had.
Joey browsed some sites belonging to the “dark forces” and he evetually learned how to make “black magics” in order to bring him more dollars. He began clicking his own ads once in a while. He also put an image above his ads carrying the text “Click below to support this site”, assuming that mighty Google will not recognize that. He also used a rotator for his meta tags, which interchanges their values with keywords that have the highest bid for Google Adwords. His pages started to bring ads about debt, college loans, attorneys, legal matters, and many other terms which his websites has no or little content about.
The forces at the Googleplex noticed the sudden surge of John’s earnings as reflected in the number of ad clicks that his site is receiving. There are more clicks than pageviews for most of his pages, and while highly paid ads are being shown, his pages only have a few sentences as content, with no relevance to the ads being shown.
John’s website is penalized by Google. Worst, his Adsense account is also suspended for massive click fraud and cheating. And before Google sends his next paycheck, all his earnings are put on hold. John knows there no one to blame but him, though he knows there are hundreds of affiliate programs available in the Internet, it’s too late for him to realize that Adsense is far the best of all advertising program being offered to webmasters.
